Close up CFFC

Cee's Fun Foto Challenge badge with hay bales decorated with comical faces

This week’s prompt for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge (CFFC) is a close-up or up close. It was suggested by one of Dan Antion’s readers.

In the past there was a close-up challenge each month as part of Cee’s Midweek Madness Challenge (CMMC). My posts for that may be found from the tag close up. Dan has posted a good selection of photos for the current challenge.

My photo is of Dryad’s Saddle fungus, which has been killing a sycamore tree over a number of years. It is a subject I keep returning to with my camera or phone.

On the right is part of a tree trunk. A group of fungi are growing out of the side. They have off-white stalks and undersides. The saddle-shaped tops are slight brown spotted with darker brown. To the left is a lawn and a tree in full leaf.
