A day trip to Iona

The day after we visited Duart Castle the weather forecast was better.  The day trip to Iona (via Mull) was running.  We were able to sit outside on the ferry after drying two seats with tissues.

A coach was waiting to take the day-trippers to Iona.  I shall write about the drive across Mull later.  Today I am posting photos from Iona.

We were blessed with good weather and decided to climb a hill rather than go round the Abbey.

On the way to the hill we passed a ruined nunnery.  The light was ideal for photography.

In September there were still plenty of flowers in bloom.
